Join Our Team as a Data Engineer in the Operations Finance Technology Division

At Amazon, we are enhancing our Operations Finance Technology team responsible for analyzing multi-billion worldwide operational costs. We need a skilled Data Engineer to help us build solutions for analytics across inbound costs, variable and fixed costs, outbound logistics, and customer services.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Amazon, you'll handle large data sets within one of the largest and most complex data warehouse environments globally. You'll collaborate closely with business teams to analyze cost-saving initiatives and tackle unique business problems with creative solutions.

Your responsibilities will include designing and developing an analytical environment using both third-party and in-house tools, modeling metadata, and building reports and dashboards. Engage with cutting-edge technologies such as Redshift, Hadoop, Hive, and Pig, and develop scalable queries optimizing performance over billions of rows of data.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Design and support data warehouse/data lake infrastructure utilizing AWS big data stack, Python, Redshift, and more.
• Develop and manage ETL processes sourcing data from various systems to create a unified data model for analytics and reporting.
• Create dashboards using business intelligence tools like Quicksight for senior leadership use.
• Empower both technical and non-technical stakeholders to conduct their analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Finance, Service Engineering, and Sales teams to support new analytics requirements.
• Effectively manage multiple requests concurrently, prioritizing as necessary.

Who We're Looking For

Applicants with at least 1 year of data engineering experience, expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipeline construction are ideal. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages like Python is required. Experience with big data technologies and ETL tools is preferred.
