The Role: Data Engineer

In 2024, our global data team is set to expand significantly, requiring adept individuals to enhance our R&D centers in Singapore and Shanghai. As a Data Engineer at Airwallex, you will have a critical role in propelling our data operations into the new AI-driven era. This position involves an immersive experience in data engineering, from data modeling and DBT scripting to advancing data quality and delving into technologies like Flink ETL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop systems to collect, process, and convert raw data into insightful information, aiding data scientists and business analysts.
• Construct and automate large-scale, high-performance data processing systems, both batch and streaming, to propel business growth and enhance product experiences.
• Promote and apply best software engineering practices in building scalable data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Lead projects ensuring that data pipelines are reliable, efficient, testable, and maintainable.
• Engineer data content models for optimal storage and retrieval to meet critical product and business demands.
• Enhance productivity and output quality for Data Engineers company-wide through shared tooling and standards.

Requirements:

• Over 5 years experience in data engineering, equipped with a degree in CS/CE/CIS or similar expertise.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and knowledge of Java, Scala, Kotlin; Spring Boot, Spark, Flink, Hadoop, BigQuery, and Snowflake preferred.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining real-time and batch-processing systems.
• Excellent analytical skills for managing unstructured datasets and complex problem-solving.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin preferred, with exemplary communication skills for effective teamwork.
