Meta's Legal Technology Solutions (LTS) is on the lookout for a talented Data Engineer who is not only keen to execute cutting-edge solutions but also eager to make a meaningful impact daily within our Legal organization.

This role offers a significant degree of ownership over the launched solutions and the chance to drive positive change. Our Data Engineers play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our platform, which serves over 3 billion users, by collaborating with teams across software engineering, data science, and machine learning engineering.

What Will You Do?

As a Data Engineer in our Legal department, you will:

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and data scientists to understand and meet data requirements.
  • Manage SLAs for data sets and optimize data integrity and security in compliance with privacy mandates.
  • Design and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations for diverse use cases across different products.
  • Tackle complex data integration issues using the best ETL patterns and query techniques from both structured and unstructured sources.
  • Maintain and optimize existing processes and systems, enhancing development efficiency of data artifacts.
  • Drive data-centric decisions across cross-functional teams and mentor team members.

Who Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, inclusive of 2+ years with a Ph.D.
  • Proficiency with workflow management engines e.g., Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, AWS Step Functions, etc.
  • Strong skills in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and programming languages such as Python, C++, Scala, etc.
  • A solid track record in ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a STEM field.
  • Experience with automation in data processing, data warehousing, data governance, and business intelligence.
  • Experience managing large-scale data (terabyte to petabyte).

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of US$134,000/year to US$204,000/year plus bonuses, equity, and additional benefits. The package will be determined by your skills, qualifications, and experience.
