Key Responsibilities

Competency with Data Information Management

As a Data Engineer, you will manage both structured and unstructured data to support decision-making, business processes, and digital services. You will be considered an expert in Cloud Database products and provide recommendations on cloud services.

Core Capabilities:

  • Information Lifecycle: Apply policies and standards for acquiring, validating, integrating, accessing, storing, and archiving data.
  • Information Strategy: Define frameworks to ensure compliance with data regulations and standards.
  • Information Governance: Ensure data assets are reliable, fit for purpose, and protected across the organization.
  • Information Stewardship: Manage taxonomies, data quality, and master/reference data domains.

Important skills include communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, business acumen, technical standards, project delivery, and industry knowledge.

Business Analysis and Technical Leadership

Engage with business units, translating business needs into technical solutions. This includes:

  • Defining requirements and ensuring business roles are engaged.
  • Participating in design reviews to ensure requirement traceability.
  • Collaborating with IT colleagues for optimal solutions.
  • Staying updated on tools and technologies to influence IT strategies.

Required Technology Skillset

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, AWS CloudFormation (CFT), CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild.
  • Programming experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience with ETL processing in AWS cloud and orchestration tools like Airflow.
  • Strong working knowledge of data lakes, data concepts, and AWS PaaS DB offerings.
  • Experience in designing data models, optimizing data pipelines, and database security.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated environments and with internal systems quality policies.
  • Knowledge of Scrum/agile methodologies and cloud infrastructure.
  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience.
  • Technical curiosity and motivation to innovate.
