Data Engineer, Sr. Supervisor at Orange Egypt

Orange Egypt is on the hunt for a seasoned Data Engineer, Sr. Supervisor to spearhead the development, construction, and upkeep of new data models and data pipelines. This pivotal role is your opportunity to influence product launches and manage data quality across various business verticals. Tasked with integrating activities within the Data Warehouse ecosystem, you will uphold and enhance our data management and quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic System Analysis & Integration: Interpret new business integration demands, comprehend intricate requirements, and execute the requisite technical assessments.

DWH Development & Optimization: Continually enhance the Data Warehouse model and perform modifications to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Quality Assurance: Implement stringent controls to maintain the Data Warehouse's integrity, updating quality checks routinely.

Data Pipeline Management: Construct and optimize data pipelines, establish data ingestion scripts/workflows, and conduct thorough data quality assessments.

Project Leadership: Guide integration projects from conceptualization to execution, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Vendor & Technology Liaison: Engage in technical specifications definition, gap analysis, and RFPs with vendors, while supporting data platform migrations and architecture decisions.

Collaborative Teamwork: Partner with data scientists, BI analysts, and IT team members to align on project objectives and enhance system performance.

Job Specifications

Educational Background: You should hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Computer Systems, or Computer Science.

Required Experience:

• 5-8 years in Data engineering, ETL development, and Data Modeling.
• Proven proficiency with IBM Datastage and Teradata DWH tools/models is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years in managing, designing, programming, and tuning data migrations across varied databases.
• Comprehensive experience in managing SQL environments.
• Experience in a Big Data/Datalake setting using tools like NiFi, Airflow, Spark, Hive, Kafka, etc.
• Experience with Data infrastructure as code, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Prior experience in telecom operators and service providers is preferred.
