Aviva is on the lookout for an experienced Data Engineering Automation Lead to join our team on a permanent basis. We seek a professional skilled in automation using standard tooling to accelerate development and delivery.

About the Job

As a Data Engineering Automation Lead, you will oversee a team dedicated to delivering wider capabilities across Aviva. This position is part of the Solutions Team within IWR, focusing on enablement and the introduction of new technologies in our tech stack.

We are searching for someone with in-depth expertise in data on the cloud (AWS preferred), and robust experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps platforms like ADO. You will manage a team of four, so strong leadership and motivational skills are essential.

Skills and Experience We’re Looking For:

  • Integration experience with cloud technologies in AWS, EMR-FS, S3, SQS, Lambda (AWS preferred) from ADO
  • Essential ADO experience
  • Proven expertise in Jenkins and proficient in programming languages, especially Python
  • Experience with data-driven solutions and principles
  • Prior integrations across technologies like ADO, Jenkins, Stash, and Jira
  • Strong background in Test/Regression automation frameworks and integrations
  • Proficiency in APIs
  • Awareness of Cloud OLAP platforms and demonstrable experience in SQL
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities
  • Experience in the financial services sector is preferred but not essential
