Job Description
Role:
As a Senior Manager with our Data Engineering group, you will be responsible for consulting clients on data solutions. You will architect, design, estimate, develop and deploy cutting-edge software products and services that leverage large scale data ingestion, processing, storage and querying, in-stream analytics and batch analytics for Cloud and on-prem environments. Your role will focus on delivering high-quality solutions while independently driving design discussions across Data Engineering topics. As a hands-on technologist, you will be excited to join a supportive community of Data Engineers who are passionate about building the best possible solutions for our clients and endorse a culture of life-long learning and collaboration.
What you'll bring:
You should have extensive experience with Data related technologies, including knowledge of Big Data Architecture Patterns and Cloud services (AWS / Azure / GCP). You should also be experienced in delivering end-to-end Big Data solutions on premise and/or on Cloud, and posses knowledge of the pros and cons of various database technologies. Expertise in Java, Scala and the Hadoop ecosystem, as well as big data ingestion tools, distributed data processing frameworks, and NoSQL databases are also required.
Qualifications
About you:
You most likely have a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and are fluent in French and English. You should enjoy client facing and/or consulting roles, and have proven experience engaging with client technology architects to help shape solution decisions. You should possess good communication, presentation, coordination, facilitation and negotiation skills, as well as a strong ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
You might also have some knowledge of containerization, orchestration and Kubernetes engine, Big data cluster security, and how to manage and setup monitoring and alerting for Big Data clusters. Experience with orchestration tools, MPP style query engines and multi-dimensional modeling, as well as exposure to data governance and associated tools, would also be advantageous. Certification in one or more cloud platforms or big data technologies is a plus. Active participation in the Data Engineering community would be a bonus.
