Join GE HealthCare as a Data Engineering Specialist to work on innovative Big Data Solutions. You will design, develop, test, and implement data engineering processes to create analytical and reporting solutions. Collaborate closely with Architects to implement various Data Products for GEHC. Manage and maintain metadata data structures, such as data catalogs, and provide necessary support for post-deployment activities when needed. Deliver results using agile methodologies promptly.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines for Big Data systems, participate in technical designs, and present technical ideas.
- Build production-grade systems for ETL, data processing, data monitoring, and data quality evaluation using various tools and technologies.
- Capture analytical system requirements through brainstorming with Architects and Product Managers.
- Develop data pipelines for cloud-based BI, AI, and ML systems by exploring trade-offs.
- Assist in BI, AI, and ML initiatives by interpreting quantitative model results, identifying trends, and developing alternatives to support business objectives.
Education and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
- 1+ years of experience in Big Data Technologies, Azure Data engineering ecosystem, or AWS cloud, including Databricks/Apache Spark, NoSQL, and Relational databases.
- 1+ years of experience with AWS services such as EC2, Databricks, S3, SQS, SNS, and CloudWatch.
- Working knowledge of columnar file formats (ORC, Parquet, Delta tables).
- Experience handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets (XML, JSON formats).
- 1+ years of hands-on development experience in Java, Python, SQL, R, or Scala, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- 1+ years of building Databricks pipelines using Python/Scala, including writing unit test cases, monitoring, and data validation.
Preferred:
- Understanding of BDD framework, CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, and AI/ML concepts.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, Big Data, Distributed computing, and modern data architecture principles like Data Mesh and Data Lakehouse.
- Exposure to data quality tools such as Great Expectations/Spark Deequ and healthcare standards like HL7, FHIR.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or higher.
