Join Intel as a motivated Data Engineering Student within our Product Data and Analytics (PDA) team. We are a dynamic, innovative team tasked with developing a state-of-the-art, high-scale cloud-based solution. Our cloud solutions leverage a microservices architecture and managed cloud services to create a cutting-edge SaaS data lakehouse. This modern solution includes self-service capabilities, ingestion/consumption services, and other features designed to help data professionals within Intel’s design teams make informed, data-driven decisions.

In your role as a Data Engineering Student, you will collaborate with our team of Data and Software Engineers to provide top-tier analytics solutions using advanced data technologies such as Databricks (Spark), Azure Data Factory, SQL, and NoSQL databases. Your key contributions will include:

• Gaining a deep understanding of data technologies and usage, with a particular focus on Data Lakehouses, streaming, big data, performance optimizations, and data quality.
• Contributing to a Python framework that utilizes the Spark engine, aiding Data/BI developers in building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Experiencing the full development lifecycle, from requirement gathering through development, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you should be:

• Currently pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least three semesters remaining until graduation.
• Available to work 2-3 days a week during the semester.
• Familiar with basic SQL and relational databases.
• Proficient in programming/scripting.
• Knowledgeable in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Familiar with GIT.
• A team player with a sense of ownership and urgency.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with Python development, including OOP programming principles.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with Apache Spark (Python).
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with databases, including data modeling, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, and partitions.
• Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
