  • Cooperate with business stakeholders, data architects, and developers to grasp data requirements and convert them into effective data models.
  • Design and construct conceptual, logical and physical data models for the data warehouse environment.
  • Analyze and assess current data structures to locate opportunities for enhancement and optimization.
  • Ensure the data models adhere to industry best practices, standards, and guidelines.
  • Work closely with the development team to implement and verify data models in the data warehouse.
  • Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality problems and suggest data cleansing and correction strategies.
  • Collaborate with data governance teams to assure conformity with regulatory requirements and data governance policies.
  • Document data models, data dictionaries, and related metadata for efficient data management and comprehension.
  • Participate in data modeling reviews and provide guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a Data Modeler in a data warehouse setting, preferably in the banking/financial industry.
  • Data Vault 2.0, at least 4 projects and or 3 years modeling experience in data vault 2.0.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, techniques, and best practices (e.g., dimensional modeling, normalization).
  • Proficiency in using data modeling tools like ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake) for data modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert business requirements into effective data models.
  • Strong communication skills to cooperate with cross-functional teams and present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
