Job Description

Summer 2024 Internship Program:

  • Program Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024
  • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business needs.
  • Format: The listed opportunities will be entirely virtual.

Placement areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Peacock Decisions, Customer Journey: As the data science intern, you'll construct machine learning and statistical models to comprehend the customer journey and predict customer lifetime value, examine and transform data (e.g., cleansing, discretization, imputation, selection, generalization) to create quality features for the modeling process, collaborate with the team to construct real-time and automated batch pipelines for operationalizing data science solutions, use big data, relational and non-relational data sources to access data at the required level of granularity for specific analytical projects' needs, and work on enhancing the codebase and machine learning lifecycle infrastructure while actively participating in all aspects of the teamwork.

  • Global Streaming Technology, Compliance Analytics: The Junior Compliance Analyst intern will be part of the Global Streaming Technology Analytics and Assurance team and will support compliance requirements management and research the impact of new technology/tool transformation on our compliance posture. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely with cybersecurity and compliance leaders to understand the cyber roadmap for our platform and how tool/technology transformation might impact compliance. You'll also help identify potential solutions for consistently evidencing compliance controls in new versions of tools/pipelines.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-conferring program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
  • Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with junior or above class standing preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Prior experience with Forecasting using ML and/or statistical techniques.
  • Advanced working knowledge of statistics and its applications for inferential data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of deep learning models and development frameworks such as TensorFlow or Pytorch.
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow, Spark, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and concepts.
  • Interest in cybersecurity and compliance or program management.
  • General understanding of development processes and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills.

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $35.00
