Job Description

We're excited about a fantastic opportunity here at Legal & General, titled Data Science Platform Engineer. This significant role within the DataOps function of the Group will be responsible for defining and communicating the technical and engineering vision for L&G retail across projects and portfolios, ensuring that the Data Science Platforms under development are suited for their intended use. The role will also involve aligning the platform ecosystem and solutions towards a common technical direction.

Qualifications

During our selection process, we'll be seeking the following experience, knowledge, and capabilities:

Experience

• Experience in bridging the gap between Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Architects, DevOPs, and Cloud Engineers
• Experience in designing, implementing, and sustaining continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines for machine learning applications
• Azure Cloud Certifications or an equivalent qualification is desirable, or relevant industry experience
• Skills in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering

Knowledge

• Sound understanding and skills in the Data Science ecosystem, including data engineering
• Familiarity with Posit and Alteryx
• Sound Cloud Infrastructure skills and understanding of how to construct Data Science platforms within the Azure Cloud
• Good understanding of data engineering and data ecosystems
• Such understanding of data cleansing, data preparation, and data processing
• Programming languages and methods for data visualization
• Experience in designing and implementing machine learning model engineering frameworks, solutions, and best practices
• CI / CD pipelines, managing the deployment and version control of data science models (GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps)
