Job Description We are seeking a Data Scientist to bring innovative advanced modeling and optimization solutions to Applied Materials Global Spares Planning and Supply Chain Modeling Team. You will have the opportunity to build advanced models using advanced statistics, simulation environments, and cutting-edge technologies. These models will help form operational guidelines, support informed decision-making, and offer solutions for complex problems. Our group: Our team comprises of data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts. We work collectively to enhance advanced forecasting, simulation, and optimization approaches to solve problems beyond the current capabilities of Applied Materials global spare parts planning and supply chain. Key Responsibilities - Research: Understand the research problem, set up and run experiments, perform data analysis, and present recommendations to management. - Construct innovative advanced models combining statistical methods, simulation, and business intelligence. - Measure, analyze, and improve product performance to enhance user satisfaction and meet desired success criteria. - Identify opportunities to enrich and integrate data from various sources. - Design new model features and implement them in our product. - Create and publish supportive dashboards, reports, and share knowledge with relevant stakeholders. - Establish standardized data, implement code version control, schedule workflows, and develop business and schema tests. - Collaborate with process owners to implement operational guidelines derived from our modeling products into the planning team, and provide training packages and documentation. Skills and Experience - B.Sc./M.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering - 2+ years of experience in Statistical Modeling and Advanced Analysis - Technical orientation; experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages - essential - Quantitative experience in Statistics - essential - Problem-solving ability combined with strong communication and analytical skills - Experience with Data Visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) - advantageous - Experience with open-source toolkits: scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy - advantageous Who are we?
