About the Program

As a participant in the BASF Global Digital Trainee Program, you will receive full support from day one to make meaningful contributions to our team. You'll engage in exciting projects that allow you to bring your creativity, passion, and pioneering spirit to our global teams. With the guidance of top-notch mentors and coaches, your professional growth and development are ensured.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Logistics Management and Operations team in providing AI-driven applications and advanced predictive analysis solutions.
• Learn the end-to-end process from ideation to development, final roll-out, and subsequent escalation of AI solutions.
• Document processes and results to assist in global service management and upscaling.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI and machine learning.

What to Expect

Our comprehensive 18-month program based in the Digital Hub Madrid includes:

• A 6-month internship period to learn and a 12-month training contract to kick-start your career.
• Four rotations, each approximately five months long, across at least three different teams, offering diverse digitalization exposure.
• An all-expense-paid international rotation in Germany to expand your network and enhance intercultural skills.
• Opportunities to support the team in identifying requirements and delivering effective AI solutions.
• Training on deploying models to production and providing ongoing maintenance and support.

Qualifications

We seek committed interns/trainees who aim to gain knowledge and develop professional skills. Ideal candidates:

• Are completing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM field, though other disciplines are welcome.
• Have a keen interest in programming and active involvement in extracurricular activities.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrate a positive learning spirit and a growth mindset.
• Know programming languages such as Python and are familiar with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Have basic knowledge of MLOps.

Additional Preferred Knowledge (Not Required)

• Projects related to production or logistics during university studies or training.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions, preferably Azure.
• Experience with Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics for sensor/time-series data.
• Internships or project experience in AI or data science.
• Knowledge of data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques.
• Understanding of neural networks and deep learning principles.
