Your Role

Position: Director, Generative AI Platform - Agents and Tooling - People Leader

We are looking for an experienced Director of AI Platforms to help us develop foundational enterprise AI capabilities. In this role, you will focus on building generic platform services to support applications powered by Generative AI. This includes developing SDKs and APIs for building agents, information retrieval, and models as a service for optimizing LLMs via RAG.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop abstracted platform services to support Generative AI applications.
• Create SDKs and APIs for applications like fraud detection, AI Assistants, and recommendations.
• Design and build RAG service platform orchestrations, including prompt engineering and vector databases.
• Build and manage a Prompt management service through cross-organizational partnerships.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in operationalizing machine learning and GenAI Technologies.
• Design and implement MLOps capabilities for foundation models.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in programming (Python, Go, Scala, or C/C++).
• 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and deploying enterprise AI/ML applications.
• 3+ years of experience in ML automation (MLOps).
• 4+ years of experience in team leadership within Machine Learning development.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• 1+ year working with LLM-based conversational AI systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on modern AI techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed platforms in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with cloud system architecture for security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Experience with delivering large models through the MLOps lifecycle from exploration to serving.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience in tech/product-driven companies or startups preferred.
• Experience with AI technologies such as prompt engineering, vector databases, LLM hosting, advanced RAG, and fine-tuning.
• Experience with LLM applications and vertical integration with enterprise applications.

Compensation

We offer competitive salaries based on location:

• New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $274,800 - $313,600
• San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $291,100 - $332,300
• Remote: $232,900 - $265,800
