About the Role: EDI Data Specialist

We are seeking an EDI Data Specialist to be a pivotal team member of our National Employee Benefits Technology (EBTech) Department. This department leverages various software tools to assist our valued clients with health care reform compliance, automated benefits enrollment, and other automation needs. As a Data/EDI Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with customers to oversee various software implementation tasks, including data analysis, EDI configuration, testing, training, and project presentations.
  • Auditing and uploading data for complex website implementations for new and existing customers.
  • Creating and configuring EDI files using third-party software in line with established SOPs and best practices.
  • Building and maintaining successful relationships with customers, vendors, and carriers to improve customer retention.
  • Providing daily support to assigned customers and serving as an indirect resource through teammate development.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of health and benefits products and appropriately configuring and testing software tools.
  • Responding proactively to customer support questions and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Adhering to department guidelines, policies, procedures, and pursuing professional development and continuing education.
  • Training and mentoring Analysts and Senior Analysts.
  • Engaging in training to stay informed on industry developments, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology.
  • Undertaking personal and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of relevant software implementation experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Experience working with personal computer database applications.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor and a professional approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of office experience, preferably in the insurance, human resources, or financial sectors.
  • 1-2 years of experience in employee data file manipulation and EDI file development.
  • Experience with payroll deduction feeds is a plus.
  • The ability to obtain licensure in Life and Health Insurance.
