Summary

SAP is revolutionizing AI by integrating advanced AI technologies with industry-specific data and deep process knowledge to innovate SAP applications. Large Language Models (LLMs) have the potential to transform work processes and product development, redefining Machine Learning across multiple domains.

Our SAP AI Product Engineering team is at the forefront, designing central frameworks and cloud services like Joule, Generative AI Hub, AI Core, and Document Information Extraction. We also focus on developing SAP’s foundation models and generative AI technologies, incorporating both proprietary business models and partner LLMs.

The Role

•  
• Lead the development of Business AI Scenarios on SAP business data embedded in diverse business contexts.  
• Serve as the technical lead, guiding a team of AI Scientists and Data Engineers and overseeing project execution.  
• Design representations suitable for Self-Supervised Learning across the entire SAP application and process portfolio.  
• Define processes, methods, hypotheses, and experiments, reviewing results to establish End-to-End Foundational Models.  
• Leverage semantic business and process knowledge in the form of a Knowledge Graph.  
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure the Foundation Models/LLMs align with SAP’s strategic objectives of embedding AI into our product portfolio.  
• Stay current with AI and Data Engineering trends to enhance team performance and product quality.  
• Establish research collaborations with academic and commercial partners.  
• Contribute to thought leadership in Foundation Models and Generative AI.

What You Bring

•  
• PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.  
• Extensive experience with LLMs, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning using Knowledge Graphs (e.g., GNNs).  
• Deep understanding of applying Generative AI in a business context.  
• Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.  
• Ideally, professional experience with Machine Learning on structured data, such as ERP or CRM domains.  
• Strong teamwork capabilities, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.  
• Substantial publication record related to LLMs, Foundation Models, or Knowledge Graphs.
