About you

You'll be joining our team as an Analyst in Financial Crime Analytics. Reporting to the FinCrime Models Management Lead, you’ll join a rapidly expanding business that is disrupting the market and doing things differently.

Financial Crime Models Management is a small, expanding team responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and robustness of our automated Transaction Monitoring and Payment Screening tools. The team performs day-to-day support duties for the business while also taking part in strategic projects.

We are in search of a data analytics expert to sift through large datasets for potential signs of financial crime, assist in MI dashboard development, and other related tasks. You will be working closely with the FinCrime Data Analytics Lead, assisting with data science tasks and activities to improve and tune Machine Learning models.

This role will provide ample opportunity for professional growth, enhancing your FinCrime knowledge while developing more elaborate FinCrime analytics and capabilities to identify potentially suspicious activity.

This role is for someone who appreciates the value of data and how it can contribute to the continued growth of our ambitious organisation. You will acknowledge the implications of data quality issues in AML and Sanctions Screening and will be vigilant for opportunities to improve them.

Our data is stored on an Azure cloud-based infrastructure and experience with SQL and Python/R is essential, with familiarity with Data Bricks as a bonus.

You'll be joining the #14 fastest-growing tech company in the UK, as declared by Deloitte Fast 50.

You will be

  • Passionate about data, an inquisitive problem solver, with a systematic and logical mindset.
  • Experienced in data engineering, including transforming, enriching, and manipulating data
  • Your meticulous attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to scrutinise will be crucial in delivering dependable analytics and Management Information insights.
  • Able to explain your approach and findings to non-specialist stakeholders
  • Familiar with the concepts of Machine Learning, model training, and tuning
  • Understand good data management practices and how they apply to our AML & Screening systems
  • Prior experience of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Sanctions Screening processes would be beneficial, though not required.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in Excel, including pivot tables
  • Experience with data engineering, data science, and analytics tools such as SQL, R, Python, Azure DataBricks, Azure DevOps, Spark, MLFlow, TerraForm
