We currently distribute 11 weekly newsletters, such as SecPro, which is dedicated to cybersecurity professionals, DataPro, intended for data specialists, and MobilePro for professionals in mobile tech roles, reaching a combined total of over 500k subscribers. Our plan is to extend our range of newsletters to over 20 within the coming three years. Access our newsletter archives on Substack. We are searching for a driven and thorough Graduate Data Analyst to join our group. This role involves forming a collaboration with the Email Operations Manager to manage our newsletter outreach efforts and to analyze subscriber-level data, identify actionable insights from data via our Customer Data Platform (CDP), build reports, and optimize and automate data processes. Outreach Process The outreach process targets relevant contacts out of our 3.3 million-strong subscriber database, each interested in a variety of tech portfolios, for a newsletter outreach email. The standard procedure sends a segment of new users the prior week's email issue and if opened, they are added to the primary newsletter weekly issue segment. Your role involves overseeing the addition of subscribers to their respective newsletters. Before adding the selected subscribers to the appropriate audience list in MailChimp for mailing, a series of sanity checks will be conducted to confirm the accuracy and the right selection of users. Your key responsibility is to ensure the effective dispatch of captivating newsletters to our target audience, thereby promoting engagement and satisfaction. Responsibilities - Micromanage the newsletter outreach process, from identifying users from the CDP to successfully adding them to the MailChimp newsletter lists. - Ensuring the right selection of users through sanity checks run via Python scripts. - Monitoring and recording the performance metrics for every newsletter outreach campaign. - Assessing outreach results and suggesting improvements. - Keep abreast with industry trends and best practices in newsletter outreach. - Engagement Tracking: Monitoring subscriber engagement by tracking opens and interactions with outreach emails. Assuring a minimal number of unsubscribes and abuse flags by adding engaged subscribers to the weekly issue segment. - Automation Enhancement: Identifying and implementing opportunities for process automation concerning data collection to optimize efficiency. - Cross-Team Collaboration: Join forces with the BCN team to share findings, insights, and improvements for the continual enhancement of outreach strategies. Cooperating with Growth team to optimize conversion. Consulting with Platforms team to optimize processes. - Performance Optimization: Continuous efforts to enhance delivery and engagement rates of our newsletters for improved user satisfaction. - Regular monitoring of daily and weekly performance of the Newsletters and updating global weekly newsletter metrics. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, etc. - Mastery of data analysis tools and methods, including Power BI. - Proficiency in SQL, skilled at generating valuable insights from elaborate datasets, and adept at clearly communicating key findings. - Minimum 6 months to 1 year of Python programming experience either during academic training or post-graduate employment. - Familiarity with MailChimp - not a strict requirement but desirable. - Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. - Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines. - Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal). - Analytical mindset with a knack for interpreting data and making data-driven decisions. - Willingness and adaptability to learn new tools and techniques. - Passion for technology and an understanding of diverse tech interests.
