Investment Analyst Opportunity at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan
We are excited to announce an opening for an Investment Analyst in our Total Fund Risk team. This dynamic role places you within the Total Fund Risk & Analytics team of the Risk Division, where you will contribute to the risk systems, methodologies, total fund risk assessment, and develop cutting-edge risk analytical tools.
Who You'll Work With
Reporting to the Director of Investment Risk, you will work alongside quantitative risk professionals within the Risk Division and collaborate with investment professionals from various departments, including Total Fund Management, Business Analysis, and IT.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the team's initiatives in enhancing total fund risk and analytics capabilities
- Design and implement risk analytical tools for the Risk and Investment Divisions
- Provide research and develop quantitative risk models for Total Fund risk assessment
- Maintain and upgrade existing in-house risk toolsets for asset risk and funding liquidity risk
- Handle on-demand risk analysis requests from various investment departments
- Collaborate with risk and investment teams to design analytical tools and provide timely risk analysis
What You'll Need
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering)
- 1 to 2 years of hands-on software development experience with strong programming skills in C# and/or Python
- Experience with PL/SQL, MS .NET, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git
- Exposure to Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a plus
- Working knowledge of Value-at-Risk (VaR) methodologies, financial products, and liquidity risk
- Proficiency in relational databases and OLAP Cube technology
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Plotly, and Grafana
