We are excited to announce a lucrative job opening for an IT Infrastructure and Data Manager at the prestigious College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, Deanery of Clinical Sciences, Edinburgh Imaging. This full-time position is based in the dynamic environment of the Queens Medical Research Institute at Edinburgh Bioquarter.

About the Role:

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from £39,347 to £46,974 and is fixed-term for 60 months, with a standard workweek of 35 hours. We support flexible work arrangements and are open to hybrid working options that include both remote and on-campus activities.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our innovative Total Body PET-CT scanner, a cutting-edge technology funded by an MRC collaboration with Glasgow University. This role is pivotal in driving forward experimental medicine and clinical studies that enhance our understanding and treatment of human diseases.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in Linux systems management and shell scripting
  • Strong experience with data management and computational research tools such as MySQL, Postgres, R, MatLab, Docker, KVM, Python
  • Proven ability in managing, governing, and transferring large-scale data collections (Petabyte scale).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to provide specialist technical support and manage critical issues effectively.
