Job Description

Are you ready to lead our Data Science Team within the Support Group, responsible for developing in-house customer service tools? This includes support chat, operational tools for agents, and self-service automation. We see immense potential for machine learning and AI in this domain and are boosting our data science team to capitalize on these opportunities.

We seek a passionate Data Science Team Lead to scale our data science function and elevate our machine learning and AI capabilities. You'll collaborate within cross-functional teams, working closely with engineers, designers, product leads, and analytics experts. Your mission will be to advance our data science practices while engaging hands-on in machine learning and AI projects. You’ll set the data science vision, make personal development plans, and facilitate regular 1-1s.

This role can be based in our tech hubs in Berlin, Helsinki, or Stockholm, or you can work remotely within Finland, Sweden, Germany, or Estonia. We also offer relocation support if you are moving from outside these countries.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is a passionate Data Science enthusiast with a zeal for solving business problems.
• Has experience in building impactful Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI solutions and data products.
• Understands the intricacies of creating production-level ML and AI solutions, real-time applications, and large-scale deployments.
• Has strong experience leading technical Data Science teams, fostering personal growth, and enhancing DS practices.
• Is adept in making personal development plans, conducting regular 1-1s, and participating in recruitment processes.
• Possesses deep expertise in Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, NLP, and technical problem-solving within engineering teams.
• Shows interest in LLMs and GenAI and their real-world applications.
• Has excellent communication and presentation skills for collaborating with senior stakeholders and guiding the team's vision and direction.
• Is a strong cultural leader who values team well-being and continuous improvement, embodying Wolt’s core values.
