Job Description

What you will do
As a Machine Learning Engineering expert, you will be responsible for the growth of our Data team, both in terms of professional development and size. You will shape and execute the future direction of your expertise within Sia Partners. Your work will be targeted towards client projects and constructing our own Sia AI solutions, in collaboration with our Dutch team of Data Scientists, our French Data Engineering team, and other Sia Partners Global business units.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading an internal team towards developing AI products;
• Working as an expert within a multidisciplinary team on client projects;
• Making architectural and design decisions for cloud environments;
• Building production-level ML/AI solutions using robust software engineering;
• Guiding Data Scientists to scale their models for production (parallelizing, optimizing, tuning, testing, and wrapping);
• Giving trainings, leading internal meetings, and organizing external events;
• Participation in team meetings and client workshops;
• Writing blog articles, presenting at conferences, and issuing press releases on the subject you lead.

Qualifications

• MSc level education in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, or related field of study.
• 2-4 years of experience in building production-quality ML/Deep Learning pipelines and models.
• A good understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and in-depth knowledge in a specific domain (e.g., Computer Vision, Deep Learning, NLP).
• Expert coding skills in Python and at least one of these languages: Scala, C++, Java.
• Practical experience with database management languages (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructures (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Practical experience with Unix-based command line and DevOps tools (Git, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Practical experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Databricks).
• Experience in coaching/mentoring other engineers.
• Prior experience in Management Consulting is a strong bonus.
• Willingness to travel and work with local and international clients.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Either proficiency or a strong willingness to become proficient in Dutch.
