About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer - Technical Lead II for Crowe Intelligent Document Analyzer (CIDA), you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our document extraction product. You'll lead the transition from a combination of Natural Language Processing and embeddings models to full integration with our in-house Generative AI platform, utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs).

Role Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technical vision for CIDA, merging LLM capabilities with existing NLP solutions to enhance predictive accuracy and improve user experience.
• Collaborate with Product Manager and client teams to translate end-user needs into effective technical solutions.
• Maintain high standards for code quality and identify improvements to benefit the product and team.
• Analyze future risks and plan mitigations in collaboration with partner teams.
• Develop and execute test plans and automation opportunities.
• Partner with ML DevOps for product scalability, stability, and maintainability.
• Support software release cycles and deploy working code to production.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of Machine Learning Engineers.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in coding with Python and familiarity with Linux/UNIX systems.
• Experience in production machine learning using tools like Docker and Git; familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models such as ChatGPT and tools like huggingface’s transformers.
• Knowledge of NLP techniques, including fuzzy matching and named entity recognition.
• Strong ML architecting skills, aligning technical vision with product strategy.
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership skills that foster professional growth and teamwork.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in software release cycles and developing test criteria using platforms such as Azure DevOps or Github.
• Familiarity with commercial text extraction tools like Azure Form Recognizer.
• Knowledge of various NLP modeling techniques and computer vision solutions.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• A passion for sharing knowledge through training opportunities, lightning talks, and creating thorough documentation.
• A strong curiosity about machine learning and staying current with the latest developments.
