We are seeking a skilled Metadata & Data Quality Analyst to drive and enhance the operational management of 'assured data' across Sainsbury's. This vital position entails advancing data quality improvements, managing the Group Data Catalogue, and ensuring that analytics and decisions are grounded in validated data.
Operational Management: Oversee the daily management of the Group Data Catalogue, maximize its features, and maintain the catalogue by removing outdated or unused data sources.
Data Quality Enhancement: Improve data quality through profiling, rule implementation, and develop data quality triage processes to address and prioritize quality issues.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with various teams utilizing a mix of systems and technologies, and coordinate with the data ownership and stewardship community to promote data quality improvements.
Strategy and Planning: Facilitate source system data quality remediation, manage workload with forward planning, and engage in root cause analysis to provide strategic recommendations.
Technical Expertise: Advanced SQL skills, and strong familiarity with tools such as Alation, Collibra, GitHub, and data visualization tools like Tableau, Microstrategy, and Power BI.
Data Management: Comprehensive understanding of metadata, stewardship, cataloguing, data quality, and data vault modelling.
Educational Background: A degree in Mathematics, Science, or a related field is preferred.
Desirable Skills: Knowledge of JIRA, Agile principles, and the ability to undertake triage and root cause analysis.
Ownership: Takes full accountability for resolving data quality issues.
Innovation: Identifies and implements opportunities to enhance the trust and availability of data.
Collaboration: Builds strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams, promoting standardised processes and mutual respect.
