Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop collaborative autonomy behaviors for heterogeneous autonomous vehicles across different domains and sensor suites.
  • Facilitate efficient data sharing across large swarms of autonomous vehicles in limited bandwidth environments, employing strategies like subdividing into smaller, localized subgroups.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain advanced methods for managing network health in disconnected, denied, intermittent, or limited bandwidth (DDIL) environments.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to sensors, modules, and vehicles to ensure robust operation; develop operational systems for low-bandwidth communications with priority management.
  • Contribute novel engineering ideas, algorithms, and concepts for research and development projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, domain experts, DoD warfighters, and program managers to build software solutions for military missions.
  • Communicate solutions effectively to a diverse team of engineers, program managers, executives, and sponsors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering (electrical & computer, systems and industrial, mechanical, etc.).
  • Experience with C++, Python, and/or Bash.
  • Proficiency in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience with Docker and its networking nuances.
  • Experience with robotics SDKs, such as ROS2 and Pub/Sub architectures.
  • Experience with DDS and standard networking mechanisms (e.g., sockets, HTTPS, REST) and protocols (e.g., UDP, TCP).
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining quality of service (QoS) networking mechanisms for collaborative multi-platform autonomous systems.
  • Prior experience with remote software development and the ability to learn new software and algorithms with minimal supervision. Integration and test experience on common COTS hardware devices (e.g., Nvidia Jetson, Xilinx RF/MPSOC).
  • A passion for solving complex problems with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a highly collaborative, constantly changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required by projects, with an estimated average travel frequency of every other month for 1 week (~10%). Travel-adverse candidates may inquire about relocation assistance to HQ in Poway, CA.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a U.S. SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science or engineering (electrical & computer, systems and
