General Responsibilities

Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities, providing strategic or tactical recommendations through analysis.

Strategic & Analytic Orientation: Demonstrate a proven track record in decision-making and problem-solving based on analytics, supported by a strong quantitative orientation.

Technology: Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities that enable self-service frameworks for data consumers.

Business Intelligence: Partner with the business to design tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.

Execution: Develop problem frameworks, hypotheses, test and analysis plans, solution development, and lead implementation efforts.

Partnership: Collaborate with various teams across Capital One, including Go-to-Market, Product, Technology, Operations, and partner teams like Finance and Risk.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience in data analytics, or

Master’s Degree and at least 3 years in data analytics, or

PhD with an expectation that degree will be obtained before the start date.

At least 3 years of experience in at least one scripting language.

At least 1 year of experience with a business intelligence visualization tool.

At least 3 years of experience in querying and analyzing with data languages and platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics disciplines.

At least 4 years of experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.

At least 4 years of experience in process management and methodologies such as Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma.

At least 2 years of experience within AWS services.

At least 2 years of experience in Data Governance and Data Quality Management within financial services.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $113,600 - $129,700 for Principal Data Analyst
