Position: Principal Data Scientist, Causal Modeling

Role Overview

We're seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead our Causal Modeling initiatives. This vital role will empower our ambition to transition from correlative models to causal models with integrated interpretability. Your expertise will help perform interventional, prescriptive, and counterfactual analyses to deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical authority and hands-on leader in causal model design and development.
  • Blend knowledge of biopharma/healthcare with AI and data science to innovate and demonstrate the impact of causal models.
  • Translate scientific and business challenges into analytical problems and devise effective solutions.
  • Communicate and influence at all organizational levels, including technical, scientific, medical, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff in data science, fostering their technical growth and career development.
  • Contribute to team growth by providing technical and leadership methodologies and staying updated with industry developments.

What We Expect of You

Our ideal candidate will exhibit strong problem-solving skills and possess the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Data Science experience
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Data Science experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Data Science experience
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Data Science experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Data Science experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative or life-science subject area
  • 5+ years of practical experience in causal model design and development
  • Expertise in causal diagrams and directed acyclic graphs
  • Experience in biopharma, particularly bridging data science with research, clinical development, and medical affairs
  • Proficiency in statistics, machine learning, and mechanistic mathematical modeling
  • Demonstrated experience with project portfolios showcasing machine learning and causal modeling
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing organizational changes
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range and Location

Salary Range: $159,980.00 - $193,021.00 USD
