Role Overview

The Artificial Intelligence Client Service (AICS) group at Fractal partners with Fortune 500 companies to maximize their data assets using AI and advanced algorithms, driving substantial business value through empowered human decisions.

We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist who will:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Thought Leadership:
    • Advise client executives on data science strategy gaps and how Fractal can bridge these gaps.
    • Organize client-facing and internal events to share developments in data science projects and research.
    • Participate in Client Advisory Board meetings, industry events, and media interviews.
  2. Pre-Sales & Delivery:
    • Attend sales calls to understand client needs and offer data science expertise.
    • Lead or co-lead response teams for client requests for information/proposals.
    • Draft project proposals, including solution architecture and project schedules.
    • Collaborate with Account and Engagement managers on AI component planning and tailored sales pitches.
    • Ensure successful project delivery with cross-functional teams.
  3. Organizational Development:
    • Hire and manage AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and MLOps professionals.
    • Mentor senior AI leaders to enhance AICS growth and market presence.
    • Drive growth through strategic interventions in key client accounts.
    • Contribute to IP development initiatives and their promotion.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in one numerical computing language: Python or R.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, Bayesian modeling, ML, Deep Learning, RL, and optimization.
  • In-depth understanding of AI/GenAI algorithms.
  • Proficient in DS coding best practices, cloud environments, and Linux OS.
  • Experience in operationalizing AI in cloud environments.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to build relationships with senior leadership.
  • Intellectual agility and ability to learn adjacent technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Empathetic collaboration across functional roles, geographies, and cultures.

Experience & Education:

  • 10+ years of experience in AI-led programs.
  • Consulting experience with senior leadership on strategy and AI research.
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams.
  • Graduate/undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline preferred but not required.

Compensation

Competitive salary range: $175,000 - $250,000, adjusted based on skill set, experience, and other business factors. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
