About Maxim Integrated Products, LLC

Position: Principal Engineer, Machine Learning

Location: Dallas, Texas

Job Duties

  • Design, train, and port AI models for resource-constrained devices using PyTorch and CUDA-based training hardware.
  • Adapt existing AI models and create specialized solutions.
  • Develop software in C and optimize digital signal processing algorithms for embedded microcontrollers.
  • Design and execute data collection protocols for deep learning across various datasets including computer vision and computer audio.
  • Conduct AI research, publish findings, and present at scientific and industry conferences.
  • Develop embedded AI accelerators and design custom adaptations of PyTorch and TensorFlow frameworks.
  • Collaborate with in-house and customer researchers and engineers to align with corporate goals.
  • Lead the creation of novel AI algorithms and their implementation on Analog Devices hardware.
  • Partial telecommuting benefit: 2 days work from home.

Job Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering (or foreign equivalent) with three (3) years of experience, or a Master's degree with five (5) years of experience in designing and implementing energy-efficient edge AI models. Key skills include:

  • Custom deep learning model development for audio, vision, and temporal data using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras.
  • Advanced edge AI training techniques including quantization, knowledge distillation, and neural architecture search.
  • Deployment and optimization of ML models on edge devices using programming languages like C/C++ and Java, with deployment frameworks including PyTorch Mobile, ONNX Runtime, Arm NN, and CMSIS-NN.
  • Authoring academic papers and presenting at academic and industry events in the tiny machine learning domain.
  • Developing biomedical algorithms using MATLAB or Python.
  • Designing experiments for collecting regulated sensitive data.
