Job Summary

The Profee Clinical Data Quality Admin / Coding Auditor / Coding Educator for Virtua Medical Group (VMG) is responsible for the quality and audits of professional fee (pro-fee) coding, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes. The role involves conducting internal and external audits, providing education and training, and resolving coding issues that impede account processing.

Position Responsibilities

Training and Education

Deliver onboarding training for new coders, ensuring they adhere to medical coding guidelines and regulations. Develop resources like modules and tip sheets for continuous education.

External Coding Audit Response

Manage coding audit responses, including rebuttals and appeals. Provide feedback and education based on audit outcomes and daily coding queries.

Auditing

Perform chart audits for CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes, submitting findings to staff and directors. Oversee external audits for clinicians and provide annual coding education.

Accounts Receivable

Assist in monitoring pre-AR aging reports, resolve account issues to reduce A/R, and code charts as needed to meet A/R goals.

Interdepartmental Issue Resolution

Collaborate with VMG Practices and billing companies to solve coding and reimbursement issues, providing necessary education and recommending workflow changes.

Policies and Procedures

Develop and enforce policies and procedures on coding and compliance. Propose changes to ensure appropriate documentation and reimbursement.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• 3 years of professional fee coding experience
• Professional fee auditing and education experience preferred
• Multi-specialty coding experience preferred
• Proficiency in PC database applications, Microsoft Office, and encoder systems
• Expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
• Ability to develop and present educational material

Required Education

Coding Certificate Program or equivalent experience leading to appropriate certification

Training/Certifications/Licensure

• CPC Certification by AAPC required
• CPMA Certification by AAPC preferred
