This position focuses on the exciting field of Embodied AI, where cutting-edge AI technologies converge with robotics, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

About the Role

As part of the Embodied AI team at FAIR, your role will involve advancing the field of dexterous robot manipulation. You will be at the forefront of developing innovative representation learning algorithms to enhance robotic tactile capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to:

  • Conduct pioneering research and develop advanced AI approaches for enhancing the dexterity of robotic systems.
  • Design and execute experiments, analyze resulting data, and present your findings through technical reports and influential publications.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of top-tier researchers and contribute to the strategic direction of your projects.
  • Write robust, maintainable code that will be shared with the broader research community when open sourced.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • PhD degree (in progress or completed) in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the period of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in industry, academia, or government labs.
  • Demonstrated success through patents, publications, or contributions to major conferences in the fields of Machine Learning, Robotics, or Computer Vision.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, and specialties such as representation learning and robotic manipulation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this role ranges from $143,000 to $208,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, and location.
