About the Role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll be instrumental in scientific discoveries and ZOE's success by making data accessible to Researchers, Data Scientists, and Analysts. You will design, build, and maintain the ZOE data warehouse, driving scientific research that enhances our nutrition and health recommendations, develops superior products, and delights our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Define data requirements from research trials alongside data from the main product experience.
  • Automate data collection from diverse sources such as labs, questionnaires, and study coordination tools.
  • Integrate data from trials into our data warehouse.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of study data for research and product development.
  • Design, build, and maintain data models for efficient data access.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand patterns and trends.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation on data sources and schemas for internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Have a passion for Science, Nutrition, and Physiology.
  • Possess a collaborative and innovative mindset.
  • Have experience with dbt and Apache Airflow.
  • Boast a track record in data engineering roles, particularly in data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Are proficient in Python and SQL.
  • Have experience with Data Warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, SnowFlake) and interactive computing environments like Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Understand data governance principles and best practices for data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Are detail-oriented and reliable in ensuring data accuracy.
  • Strive for clean code, maintained tests, and frequent releases.
  • Have experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and data workflow tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Understand CI/CD best practices and containerization.
  • Can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
