About the Team
We are building a new team focused on the maintenance, evolution, and engineering of data processing across Sovrn’s Data Collective. This team will ensure the transformation, availability, and governance of derived data, making critical product insights accessible to Sovrn’s business leaders. The team will spearhead collaboration between engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and product managers to enhance data access across all product lines.
About the Job
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of this new team. You will collaborate with business and technical leaders to gather dataset requirements essential for strategic business decisions. Your role will involve building and maintaining key datasets within our data warehouse and advancing our analytics engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design architecture, tables, metrics consistency, data models, and implement big data platforms and analytics applications.
- Analyze and provide expertise in the latest big data and analytics technologies.
- Govern business-critical product data sets within Sovrn’s data warehouse.
- Offer technical leadership within the Data Accessibility team.
- Specify data platform components and configurations for data pipeline implementation.
- Implement data pipeline metrics to monitor performance, accuracy, and availability.
- Research and evolve methods to process our data.
- Optimize data processing and access to business intelligence tools.
- Provide domain expertise to enable business growth through data services and models.
- Troubleshoot systemic issues and lead improvements.
About You
You excel in both technical ability and interpersonal skills. A self-starter, you can get the job done independently while leading a collaborative team. You’re technically curious, love problem-solving, and enjoy defining challenges to create superior software solutions.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of big data processing environments such as Spark and Snowflake.
- Proficient in SQL and Python.
- Experienced in big data and distributed data processing in the AWS ecosystem.
- Skilled in data warehousing and data mart design and implementation.
- Knowledgeable in metadata management, data lineage, and data governance.
- Experienced in handling structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data.
- Ability to lead problem definition, solution designs, and work plans.
- A creative yet analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate business domain knowledge into data requirements.
- Create and maintain data products from data warehouse to user-facing outputs like reports and dashboards.
- Stay updated with industry metrics and incorporate them into Sovrn's data.
Bonus Points
- Experience with data processing within Snowflake.
- Backend Looker optimization and administration.
- Data processing using Spark/Scala and Java.
- Familiarity with multiple cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with data security and compliance (PII, CCPA, GDPR, etc.).
- Knowledge of Agile/JIRA.

Compensation and Benefits
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the compensation range for this role in Boulder, Colorado is $125,000 to $155,000, including base salary and related bonuses or
