What you will be doing We are on the hunt for an extraordinary Senior Data Scientist with profound knowledge in Machine Learning methods and technologies, who is adept at operating in an agile, architecture-led setting. Your key responsibilities would involve analysing large, complicated datasets, and devising predictive algorithms and models that would power our financial solutions. This position is stationed at our Milan headquarters, where you'll work with all the key players as an integral part of Satispay. You will serve as a central member of the Tech & Product Team, helping to stimulate the expansion of the Satispay Group (Italy, Luxembourg, France, and soon, other countries), involved in activities such as: Identifying potential for leveraging machine learning to enhance our services and processes Analysing large and complex data sets to reveal hidden trends and insights Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models to resolve business issues, predict customer behaviour, and improve user experience Designing and implementing experiments to test hypotheses and assess the impact of new features Working together with various Satispay teams to construct a top-tier data infrastructure and conduct analysis on large data sets to extract impactful insights on user behaviour that will influence product and design choices Constantly monitoring and optimising machine learning models for precision and performance Explaining findings and insights clearly and tersely to various Satispay stakeholders Keeping current with the latest advancements and best practices in machine learning and data science What we need In addition to a robust technical foundation, our ideal candidate possesses confirmed business acumen coupled with outstanding communication skills. If you have the ability to demystify complex, ambiguous subjects and create compelling narratives for a wide range of audiences - external stakeholders as well as colleagues - then we invite you to apply. You have: A related experience or a master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, or another quantitative field (PhD is a plus) A comprehensive understanding of statistical modelling, and 5+ years of experience in data science, focusing on Machine Learning and Deep Learning Proficiency in Python programming and experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Ability to contribute to the design of data engineering pipelines to facilitate and monitor Machine Learning applications Problem-solving expertise, to comprehend and address loosely defined problems, and provide relevant solutions and meaningful insights Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, which place you at ease dealing with numerous stakeholders Fluency in English, both spoken and written Ability to define optimization problems, and experience with optimization software frameworks is a strong plus Familiarity with the MLOps methodology is a plus Experience in the Fintech industry is a plus You are: Highly organised and capable of working both as part of a team and independently An excellent communicator and relationship builder A rapid learner who adapts quickly Eager to take on new challenges and work under pressure in a fast-paced international environment A proactive thinker, with the ability to 'think outside the box' Results-oriented, easy-going, entrepreneurial and passionate about your work Knowledge of French or other European languages is considered a plus.
