People Insights, a Center of Excellence (CoE), empowers TWDC Human Resource leadership in attracting, engaging, and retaining talent through compelling and actionable People Analytics. We unify organizational, HR, and Talent Acquisition data into a comprehensive BI portfolio, allowing clients to craft compelling stories about our most valuable resource: people.
In this role, you'll leverage your expertise to manage, govern, and integrate workforce data into a Snowflake database. You'll collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility for reporting and analytics purposes across tools like Tableau, Cognos, and more.
Responsibilities
Data Integration and Modeling
- Design and architect robust data integration pipelines for employee lifecycle data in a Snowflake environment, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop and implement efficient data models to support reporting and analytics needs, optimizing for query performance and adhering to best practices.
ETL Development, Monitoring, and Optimization
- Build, test, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from diverse sources into Snowflake, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency.
- Create audits for data quality validations and user acceptance testing requirements.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize data pipelines for improved efficiency and reliability.
Automation
- Implement automation solutions to streamline data integration processes, reducing manual intervention, and improving efficiency.
- Consult with cross-functional teams to deliver data pipelines that display data efficiently for business use.
Collaboration
- Work with Data Analysts, Business Intelligence Developers, and Data Scientists to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Partner with IT developers to implement and test data infrastructure enhancements.
- Research ad-hoc data questions and optimize SQL queries and scripts as required.
- Communicate data updates to technical and non-technical partners.
Documentation
- Develop technical and business documentation of data improvements.
- Document data integration processes, data flows, and system configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Security and Compliance
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements by implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and data governance practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on data integration, data modeling, and ETL development.
- Expertise in SQL and Python or other scripting languages, and experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.
- Ability to translate business issues and requirements into actionable plans.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a knack for working effectively in a team environment.
- Hands-on experience with ELT/ETL and versioning tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI or machine learning concepts.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Cognos.
- Experience with HR and/or Talent Acquisition data.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $111,900 - $136,700 per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits,
