About the Role

The CrowdStrike Data Science team operates at the thrilling intersection of Machine Learning, Big Data, and Security. We are on the lookout for a highly motivated Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer to help us bolster our team. You will focus on developing and refining our malware detection capabilities using state-of-the-art Machine Learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with threat researchers, data scientists, and engineers to create technology solutions for detecting and preventing cyber threats.
• Develop predictive models employing supervised, semi-supervised, or unsupervised learning techniques.
• Work on tools for task automation and services for ML model testing.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Machine Learning algorithms by reviewing outputs and making necessary adjustments.

What You'll Need

• In-depth understanding of standard ML algorithms, including their trade-offs and tuning methods.
• Proven experience in developing automation tools and services.
• Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, to manage large codebases.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large, sparse datasets to extract actionable insights.
• Self-starter mentality with a relentless pursuit of new challenges and opportunities for improvement.

• Understanding of various file formats (PE, Mach-o, ELF, PDF, etc.).
• Proficiency in Rust programming.
