Key Job Responsibilities

• Lead new initiatives utilizing Machine Learning to enhance our recommendation, search, and entity matching algorithms.
• Conduct hands-on data analysis and modeling on large datasets to develop insights aimed at increasing device usage and customer satisfaction.
• Design and execute A/B experiments, evaluate optimization impacts, and communicate results to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and software engineers to design experiments and implement end-to-end solutions.
• Setup and monitor alarms to detect anomalous data patterns and perform root cause analyses to address them.
• Be an active member of the Amazon Machine Learning Community, participating in internal and external MeetUps, Hackathons, and Conferences.
• Contribute to attracting and recruiting technical talent and mentor junior scientists.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and advanced machine learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, etc.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, etc.
• PhD degree highly preferred.
• Knowledge in NLP and LLM algorithms and tools is a plus.
• Experience conducting and interpreting A/B experiments.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with research and technical teams.

Our compensation reflects the labor market's diverse geographic costs. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in the lowest geographic market to $260,000/year in the highest market. Actual compensation is influenced by factors such as location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
