Amazon Advertising is currently seeking a Senior Applied Scientist for its innovative initiative that drives Amazon’s contextual advertising product. We are searching for a dynamic, forward-thinking, and accomplished Senior Applied Scientist to lead machine learning and data science efforts in contextual data processing and classification. About the Team

The Supply Quality organization is dedicated to solving optimization challenges for Amazon’s ad programs, ensuring high-quality ad impressions. Our team develops advanced algorithms and infrastructure to optimize advertiser and publisher performance. We tackle a diverse array of problems in computational advertising, including contextual data processing and classification, traffic quality prediction (robot and fraud detection), security forensics, viewability prediction, brand safety, and experimentation.

Our team consists of experts in distributed computing, machine learning, statistics, optimization, text mining, information theory, and big data systems.

We are open to hiring candidates in the following location:

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative field.
  • Experience in applied research.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
  • Experience in building machine learning models for business applications.
  • Experience with generative deep learning models, specifically LLM and/or LVM development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modeling tools like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, scipy, etc.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
