Job Description:

Team Summary: The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) team at Visa focuses on providing cutting-edge risk management services to banks, merchants, and other payment platforms. With a strong foundation in machine learning and AI, our team is crucial in generating real-time insights for risk management. As Visa expands its predictive model capabilities, we are seeking passionate engineers skilled in data management, automated processes, and the standardization of ML/AI tools. This opening offers a remarkable opportunity to join a new Data Engineering and MLOps team, dedicated to enhancing large-scale data engineering and ML/AI operations that significantly contribute to Visa's revenue.

As an integral member of the VPM division, you'll be tasked with developing and deploying machine learning models for substantial data science projects. Your role will demand a robust ability to balance data engineering with data science, crafting effective engineering solutions to support advanced ML/AI models. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with global stakeholders across RaIS Product, VPM Data Science, and Visa Research to define and prioritize strategic initiatives.

Location: This role is based in our Bangalore office.

Essential Functions:

Your responsibilities will include the development and execution of extensive ETL processes, maintenance of robust Spark pipelines for data set creation and feature store compilation for ML models, and mastery over multiple development languages like Golang, Java, Python, and Rust. Familiarity with model serving engines and exposure to big data and real-time stacks are essential.

Who You Are:

With 5+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a similar field, you are adept at the Hadoop ecosystem and technologies including Apache Spark and Python. Your technical prowess should encompass large-scale data engineering pipelines, data-driven decision making, and quantitative analysis.

You demonstrate extensive experience in SQL, developing data pipelines using technologies like Hadoop and NoSQL databases, and optimizing high-volume multi-dimensional datasets. Experience with MLflow, Python and Hive scripting in big-data environments and a familiarity with Unix/Shell scripting are highly favorable.

This is a hybrid position requiring you to spend 50% or more of your time in the office based on business needs.
