Job Summary

Disney’s Product Management Team is seeking a Sr. Product Manager, Content Data Products to join our Content Data Products Team. This team is responsible for ideating, developing, and managing data products aimed at increasing the value of Disney’s Content Asset Portfolio across various distribution channels, including Subscription & Ad-Supported Streaming, Cable, and Broadcast.

In this role, you will partner with a wide range of collaborators, including Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Financial Analysts, and Content Programming Executives. Key responsibilities include managing Content Viewership Data, developing Engagement Metrics, overseeing Content Metadata Management, and enabling Business Partners across brands like Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, STAR+, Marvel Studios, ABC News, and more.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of data warehousing solutions, data processing pipelines, analytics platforms, and BI Tooling approaches from a product management perspective. You will also need to build strong relationships with Analysts and Business teams using Content Data Insights daily. This role requires navigating a fast-paced and evolving environment, developing relationships across diverse functional roles, and quickly understanding complex data pipelines and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the application/use of Content Data insights and gather requirements from Data Analysts and Business leaders, transforming these insights into Product roadmaps with executable projects.
  • Build and lead core product documentation including Business Case Proposals, Data Flow Diagrams, Data Dictionaries, Build vs Buy Recommendations, User Stories, UAT preparedness, etc.
  • Lead day-to-day Product Management activities related to multiple scrum teams, including backlog refinement, prioritization of short-term/long-term business needs, product/feature launch communications, user onboarding, and training.
  • Act as a Data strategist and subject matter expert for Content Data sets, seamlessly navigating every layer of the Data stack to identify opportunities for leveraging data for insights.
  • Partner with a range of teams within the Data organization (Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Quality & Governance, Program Management) to deliver high-impact, efficient Data solutions.
  • Identify risks, resolve key blockers, and establish appropriate resolution paths across a matrix organization with inter-dependent roadmaps and priorities.
  • Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of product management experience with a strong focus on building and delivering successful data products, services, and capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Math, Science, or Economics.
  • Strong foundational understanding of Big Data ecosystems to make trade-off decisions while developing end-to-end solutions on Cloud/On-Prem/Hybrid Data tech stack.
  • Experience balancing new product development with maintaining day-to-day data reporting operations in a large-scale enterprise setup.
  • Experience in applying both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques and familiarity with common data science models and approaches to problem-solving.
