Our offices are located in DC, Indy, Emeryville, and Boston. Initially, this role will begin as remote for the D.C. and Boston metro areas until the office locations are established.

The Role: Senior Software Engineering Manager

Join Lilt’s Engineering Team to lead our high-performance multilingual translation and creation systems. We prioritize investment in workflow usability, interface design, and backend AI systems, tackling intriguing cloud engineering challenges. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you'll innovate with the latest NLP techniques, and foster the next generation of our data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and lead a diverse team of software engineers, researchers, and data analysts.
• Advance software development processes and deliver high-quality software, dashboards, and reports on schedule.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Operations teams to understand and address data requirements.
• Drive architectural and software quality improvements within the team and broader organization.
• Set realistic, achievable goals and manage expectations effectively.
• Facilitate career development and provide constructive, impactful feedback to team members.

Successful Candidates Will Have

• BS, MS, or PhD in a science or engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience as a Manager of Managers or 4+ years as an Engineering Manager.
• 3+ years of experience in system architecture, design, and scaling.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Apache Hadoop, NoSQL, Presto, BigQuery, and BigTable.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• A strong desire to master the product and understand customer needs.
• Ability to manage and execute projects through cross-functional collaboration.
