Position Summary
We are seeking skilled, passionate, and resourceful data engineers at the Staff level to join our Data Engineering team. As a Staff Data Engineer, you will collaborate with various teams helping design and develop our data products and pipelines.
This position is based in Vancouver, Canada. Our salary offer ranges from CAD 200,000-300,000, in addition to equity and benefits. Salaries are determined by the role, level, and location.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with EarnIn leadership to achieve our mission: building a financial system that benefits the average person.
- Act as a valuable partner to product and other engineering teams to drive improvements to business metrics and create new features.
- Craft an architecture improvement roadmap and help ensure its implementation across the company with your team.
- Spearhead large scale system redesign initiatives to shape the future of EarnIn's platform.
- Establish processes that encourage adherence to best practices throughout the organization.
- Recruit talented engineers for your team and assist with recruitment efforts for other teams.
- Mentor and guide engineers from junior to staff level, enabling them to deliver their best work.
- Provide technical leadership to developers in your team and across the engineering organization.
- Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Play a part in company-wide engineering initiatives at EarnIn.
What We're Looking For:
- Lead the design and implementation of new features - simplify complex problems into their basic elements, translate this complexity into an elegant design, and produce high-quality, clean code.
- Make a significant difference in the lives of our community members.
- Lead, design, develop, and deliver large-scale data systems, data processing, and data transformation projects.
- Collaborate and mentor other engineers through thoughtful guidance provided via code, design, and architecture reviews.
- Contribute to defining the technical direction, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and integrating feedback to ensure team success.
- Manage team project timelines and risks.
- Care deeply about producing high quality, efficient designs and code.
- Participate in the hiring and onboarding process for new team members.
- Lead engineering initiatives across teams.
- Continually learn about new technologies and industry standards in data engineering.
