About Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA)

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is an integral part of Visa’s Global Solutions organization. Our high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and statisticians provides advanced, creative, and cutting-edge analytic solutions to help organizations adapt and evolve in the fast-changing world of technology, finance, and commerce. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (Manager level) to lead data science engagements and support end-to-end delivery from our Bangalore office.

Role Overview: Data Science – Manager (Sr. Data Scientist)

The Data Science – Manager (Sr. Data Scientist) will support and drive the design, development, and implementation of analytics-driven strategies and high-impact solutions for Visa's clients in the Asia Pacific region. This role involves managing analytics projects from concept to completion and delivering actionable insights and recommendations. You will also innovate using VisaNet data, adopt best practices in analytics, develop metrics for monitoring progress, and advocate for data science within our partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver analytics projects with actionable insights and recommendations.
• Define scope and methodology, design solutions, and use appropriate tools and techniques.
• Innovate using VisaNet and non-traditional data with new modeling techniques.
• Promote new analytic methodologies and best practices.
• Develop metrics and dashboards to quantify current state and monitor progress.
• Advocate for data science within partners, advising and coaching teams, and sharing best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and automate scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, mathematics, or related fields; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in developing machine learning solutions and delivering end-to-end data science projects.
• Proficiency in big data technologies, data handling techniques, and development tools such as Hive, Spark, SQL, R/Python.
• Experience with Credit Risk or Fraud Risk analytics, Marketing Analytics is a big plus.
• Proficiency in visualization and BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, and others.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills with a creative and strategic mindset.
• Experience in managing multiple analytic projects with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, collaborative, and flexible work style.
• Intellectual curiosity, self-motivated, results-oriented with the ability to handle numerous projects.
• Banking/Payment/E-Commerce industry experience preferred but not required.
