Position Overview

Goldman Sachs is seeking a talented Vice President, Quantitative Engineering to lead the research, development, and productionization of the alpha strategy for Credit products. This role encompasses analyzing large datasets to build predictive models using statistical tools, machine learning, and AI methods. You will conceptualize, build, and deploy scalable, large-scale quoting systems adapted to dynamic market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research and development of alpha strategy for Credit products using technical and fundamental signals.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data to build predictive models of market variables.
  • Develop and deploy large-scale quoting systems with scalability and market adaptability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, engineers, and traders on strategic projects.
  • Integrate requirements into existing infrastructure to minimize complexity.
  • Create quantitative models for market-making algorithms tailored to corporate bond markets.
  • Mentor and guide Analyst and Associate team members.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related quantitative field and three (3) years of relevant experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in the mentioned fields and five (5) years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience with a Master’s degree, OR five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the following areas:
    • Financial mathematics (stochastic calculus, no-arbitrage pricing theory, multivariable calculus, linear algebra, probability theory, numerical methods, Monte-Carlo techniques).
    • Market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, or mathematical finance concepts.
    • Object-oriented and scripting programming languages such as Python or Java.
    • Implementing mathematical models or analytics in production-quality software.
    • Database query languages such as SQL, MongoDB, or other data management tools.
    • Applying algorithms or data structures to write complex programs.
  • Two (2) years of experience with C++, Java, or Python, and developing pricing models for financial products in various market conditions.
