Location
This role can operate remotely from anywhere in the USA. You must be legally authorized to work in the US. Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.
What Will You Do?
We're seeking an Associate Data Architect to join our growing team at Health and Human Services. This person will translate the business needs of a federal agency into data architecture and metadata standards, and enforce those standards, aligning with IT and data governance policies. The Associate Data Architect will work under an Analytics Architect, managing data assets according to high-level designs and business requirements. Proactiveness and self-direction are crucial, along with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to understand abstract concepts. The right candidate will be eager to positively impact millions of Americans by infusing their knowledge into the federal government's data processes.
Responsibilities
- Execute the data architecture strategy for analytics aligning with agency goals, objectives, and policies.
- Enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the analytics team.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of analytics data architecture, data models, and integration processes.
- Document data flows in the organization.
- Maintain complex data models, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and performance.
- Ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Write code to flag data standard issues, quality, and consistency.
- Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend adoption to enhance data architecture.
- Work with Bixal’s team to envision new opportunities for data modernization in the federal space
- Support business development initiatives to grow Bixal's business.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in a data analyst role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience as a data analyst in the healthcare analytics space.
- Ability to undergo a U.S. Government background investigation and meet eligibility requirements.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Knowledge of data integration tools and ETL processes.
- Experience with star and snowflake schemas.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Superb technical writing skills.
- Expertise in data modeling techniques, data warehousing, and database design.
- Understanding of data regulations and standards.
- Experience with AWS data management systems.
- Experience working on Agile teams.
