Job Description
The Associate Director of Business Intelligence will apply their years of experience in data analysis and strategic consulting as the BI lead on any of our multitude of enterprise clients within the health and wellness industry. The ability to source and utilize the many data sources available to the BI team is crucial in not only demonstrating the business impact of our media/marketing campaigns in the market but also in translating these insights into relevant recommendations to optimize clients' media investment. You will report to the Director of Business Intelligence.
Responsibilities
While every engagement is different, typical Associate Director engagement requirements include executing the following tasks and deliverables:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with the many members of your internal and client team(s) while being solely responsible for the quality level of communications and deliverables for the entire team serving on behalf of the client.
- Collaborate with internal and external (client team, partner agencies/consulting groups) partners throughout the year to develop measurement plans/proposals that meet all client objectives and address challenges/opportunities with clearly defined goals and definitions of program success.
- Supervise the development of the business rules and parameters of the engagement and actively participate with internal Finance and Operations teams in the scoping process and any required requests for proposal from external vendors/data companies.
- Manage the multitude of internal data sources and (if applicable) third-party vendors/data streams that make up our custom measurement platform while maintaining the process on task within the set timelines and delivery dates.
- Integrate the available data into insights about the success of our programs in changing the behavior of our target audience (healthcare professionals, patients/prospects or a mixture of the two) while identifying opportunities for program optimization and enhancement.
- Act as a strategic consultant, using the aforementioned insights as the foundation for presentations, reports, various client deliverables in either an in-person or virtual setting.
- Identify areas of opportunity to expand our presence through consultative selling at current clients while occasionally participating in any new business development opportunities as they arise.
- Understand client needs and internal operations to achieve success for both the client and team.
- Provide strategic review of your team’s work to ensure deliverables are timely, with clean data & presentation, and overall, of high quality.
- Collaborate with individuals across the organization, instigate positive change, understand competitive offerings, identify needs to get projects up and running and keep them progressing with our teams.
- Independently provide POV for clients or our teams, while sourcing or researching any necessary information to inform decision-making considering business rules.
- Manage a team, teach process and provide a growth path for direct reports while balancing their workload for success.
- Remain objective making evidence-based recommendations and decisions.
- Understand agency operations and demonstrate the ability to support Senior leadership & develop trust within all partners.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of how clients use all elements of their multi-channel marketing mix in reaching their customers

- Help recruit new additions to the BI Team and manage both the career development and daily workflow of junior team members/resources
- Power-user of business IT software: MS Excel (can perform complex functions)
- Proficiency in business intelligence software such as Datorama, Tableau, Power BI, Adobe, Google, etc.
- While every engagement is different, travel is typically required 10 to 15% of the time.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree (preferably a BS in a related field) is required.
- 5 to 7 years of work experience in data/analytics consulting or quantitative marketing/analysis (experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences preferred)
