Job Description

Job Overview

The Consultant Engineer is in charge of requirements gathering, solutioning, designing, and building modern data platforms to aid data-driven decision making. This hands-on role will require the Consultant Engineer to perform the technical implementation of data engineering and visualization projects.

The Consultant Engineer will help establish a data and analytics consulting practice by taking part in recruitment efforts, preparing technical collateral, and remaining abreast of technology trends through ongoing training and certifications. Our entire consulting team will be responsible for building long-term strategic relationships with clients and participating in every project delivery aspect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and orchestrate discovery sessions with external clients and design state-of-the-art data architectures. Work with stakeholders to comprehend their issues, data requirements, and devise solutions that cater to their needs.
  • Design, implement, and develop data pipelines to accumulate and process voluminous data from various sources.
  • Implement data storage solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient, like data warehouses and databases.
  • Develop and initiate data validation and testing procedures to ensure accurate, efficient data processing.
  • Automate data collection, processing, and reporting procedures to reduce manual labor and enhance efficiency.
  • Generate high-quality documents to capture issues, requirements, solutions, and designs.
  • Assist in pre-sales activities, including whiteboarding sessions, solution architecture design collaboration, and assisting in proposal and work statement creation.
  • Contribute to the creation of reusable, repetitive collateral for use across the practice.
  • Obtain/maintain training and certification in cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to generate content to promote the practice across the region.

Qualifications

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of data engineering experience in data management, database architecture, data engineering, or data visualization.
  • Highly proficient problem-solving, organization, debugging, and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to independently work or within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying ideas to team members and clients.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience developing data pipelines with tools/Equivalent Cloud services, such as Azure Data Factory, dbt, AWS Glue, Matillion or equivalent.
  • Understanding of data warehousing solutions, such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
  • Experience with visualization tools, such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, and QuickSight.
  • Debugging and optimization skills for existing data infrastructure and processes.

Nice To Have

  • Experience creating large-scale, high throughput, 24x7 data systems.
  • Any data engineering, visualization, or data science certifications on any of the clouds.
  • Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Vue.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, AI, and/or LLM, with implementation in practice.
  • Experience with legacy data systems (e.g. Hadoop, Informatica).
