About the Role
JDSAT, Inc. is seeking experienced data architects to contribute to designing and building an enterprise data architecture for federal clients. You should have experience building enterprise-grade data architecture solutions and, ideally, on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Databricks.

Candidates must be able to obtain a secret-level clearance and be able to be on-site 2-3 times per week.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the strategic structural design and development of databases and metadata.
- Monitors industry, Federal, and Department of Defense trends and directions in database technology and tools.
- Develops data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development to build, maintain and leverage the data model, ensuring integration with organizational data standards and policies.
- Strategically plans new designs for integration into the database structure, using knowledge of the characteristics of the systems being added to the structure and the specifications for database interfaces to ensure effective integration and optimal database performance.
- Provides technical recommendations to designated boards for integrating new technology or major new mission capabilities into the metadata and data standards and structures.
- Organizes, directs, and coordinates planning, and production of activities associated with delivery order projects, including technical writing support.
- Translates business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams.
- Creates procedures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility. Analyzes, plans, and defines data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data.
- Design data auditing and data control processes to monitor the status and health of enterprise data systems.
- Act as liaison between data owners and data consumers to evaluate business needs and objectives and help data consumers understand the art of the possible.
- Collaborates with other teams within the organization to devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess stakeholder needs and goals.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in computer science or IT-related field. Minimum 6 years’ experience working in the field as described above.
- Experience leveraging cloud platforms to build secure and scalable data infrastructure.
- Ability to work in a consulting role, building technology and communicating with end-users and customers of varying levels of technical capability.
- Ability to produce high-quality, professional documentation and communication materials.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Master Data Management and the Medallion Architecture. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience leveraging cloud platforms to build secure and scalable data infrastructure.
- Experience building batch or streaming data ingestion pipelines.
