Job Description

We need a Data Engineer to construct and manage the data infrastructure for a new product at Curinos. Our goal is to convert our industry-leading data resources into customer-level insights that allow financial institutions to offer personalized customer experiences, resulting in increased Customer Lifetime Value. As part of the Data Fabric team, you’ll help bring this vision to life for our clients.

Your duties will include building and maintaining production data pipelines, including orchestration, transformation, and auditing. Data sources will encompass raw data from third parties and outputs from other internal applications/ processes, while targets will be our internal lakehouse as well as downstream applications and machine learning models.

You will also assist in building and populating our internal data lakehouse., which includes data integration, storage organization, integration with governance and cataloguing tools, and ensuring adherence to compliance and security principles.

In this role, collaborating with partner engineering and product teams will be necessary to make the outputs of data pipelines accessible and ingestible by downstream applications and machine learning models. Furthermore, you will ensure that sensitive data transfers respect MDM best practices, working together with DevSecOps and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional experience
  • Experience in constructing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience with big data stacks and technologies such as Spark and Hadoop
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, or GCP is strongly preferred
  • Databricks experience is a plus
  • Degree in Computer Science, a related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience
  • Programming languages:
    • Scala or Java is required
    • SQL is required
    • Spark and Python are strongly preferred
  • Prior exposure to FinTech, finance, or banking is a bonus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player and the ability to work cohesively with others in a challenging intellectual environment

This is a hybrid position, ideal for candidates near our regional hub in Toronto and who are able to occasionally travel to an office for work sessions or team meetings.
